ANA LOIRA

Born in Minho and living in Porto for two decades. With a degree in Communication and a professional career in marketing and advertising agencies, specializing in photography was a natural path over the years - the camera accompanies me at work, and especially in my free days, where, without a destination or a clock, I look for moments of connection with what is strange/unknown to me.

ANA SOUSA

I began exploring analogue photography as a self-taught practice in December 2019, after acquiring my first camera – an Olympus OM1. Since then, I’ve been experimenting with various formats and approaches, gradually building a collection of cameras that range from medium format to handmade pinhole boxes I construct myself.
I’m deeply interested in the entire photographic process, from the moment of capturing the image to the final darkroom print. I also devote myself to alternative techniques such as pinhole photography and cyanotype printing.
I photograph driven by curiosity and a need to express something personal. My intention is never to reproduce reality, but rather to interpret it through what I observe and feel. My fascination with time – both contemplative and restless – has always been the foundation of my photographic practice, which naturally finds its space within the surrealist sphere.
Among my main sources of inspiration are photographers such as Eugène Atget, André Kertész, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Karl Blossfeldt, and Fernando Lemos. In literature, I’m influenced by authors like Italo Calvino, Haruki Murakami, Milan Kundera, Michel Houellebecq and Philip K. Dick.

ANTÓNIO CARDOSO

Hello. I'm António but everyone calls me Xico. I'm a colorblind coffee machine technician from Valongo and this is my hobby. It started when my girlfriend needed a small repair on her analog camera, and everything that's repaired has to be tested, right? I've been testing ever since. I mostly shoot analog, I feel like I'm still trying to find my style but the best of my work is in black and white. I hope that one day it will be more than just a hobby, for the sake of my back.

CARLOS FELÍCIO

Carlos Felício traded numbers for light, exchanged formulas for film grain and found his true passion in analogue photography. As the master of Photo Dealers, he has turned the store at Rua Oliveira Monteiro, nº 368, into a refuge for all who live and breathe film.

His mission is simple but powerful: to bring analogue photography back into the hands of everyone, without price being an obstacle. With his own hands, he rolls each roll, ensuring that capturing moments continues to be an act of love, not a luxury. Passionate about landscapes and portraits, he welcomes each visitor with the same curiosity and enchantment as someone seeing the world for the first time.

At Photo Dealers, we don’t just sell cameras and film—we share stories, inspirations and the certainty that photography is, above all, an act of freedom.

CARLOS RIBEIRO

Carlos Ribeiro (b. 1962) A practicing lawyer (still). When he was a kid, Adriano Correia de Oliveira gave him a guitar, a little worn out from so much use, just to “play around”. From then on, after a quick learning course, he became a bass player, having collaborated on several musical projects and related areas of more or less obscure interest, with no other interest than the pleasure of using and enjoying music.

Passionate about photography, it was during the COVID lockdowns that he began to dedicate himself more frequently to his practice, with a special focus on street and documentary photography, having exhibited in a number of exhibitions, both individually and collectively.

CARLOS TIZA

He attended the photography course at the Portuguese Institute of Photography.
He writes poetry.
Photography became his way of expressing himself poetically, it is a complement to the written word, a more sensorial, visual and direct poetry. He is a poet of flash, spotlights, twilight light and headlights. A master of night photography, he is attracted to the dark aspect of light. He writes and feels through light, silver salts. His work is most prominent in photojournalism and nature photography. You can find him in the north of the country looking for the perfect music in the middle of the trails of mountains and valleys. He always presents an image of human unity in his photographs.

DANIEL TEIXEIRA

I was born in Porto and have always been passionate about photography. I started out more interested in landscapes and architecture, but my focus is street photography, especially in black and white. I love the adrenaline rush and the search for the right moment in my photographs, always trying to make the photos tell a story and become my photographic memories.

DIOGO OLEIRO

I was born in 1969 in Lisbon, where I live. I am a geographer by profession. My hobbies include photography and composing electronic music. I became interested in photography early on. Later, in the early 1990s, I studied photography at Ar.Co. I developed my techniques and aesthetic sense in depth. The mass adoption of digital technology was still a long way off. I then stopped taking photos for several years. The emergence of the first mobile phones with cameras and the rapid and favourable evolution of the quality/price ratio sparked my interest again.

I started sharing my photos online, mainly through Instagram, in 2014. That's how I met people and, every now and then, we would go on photo walks that revolved around the themes that interested the group. It was around that time that I invested in a Fujifilm. The pandemic put an end to that era.
The themes that capture my eye rarely involve people: minimalism, modern architecture, details, angles, plays of light and shadow, geometry and colours. I place a lot of importance on composition and prefer days with strong light and blue skies.
At the invitation of Júlio Aires, I have participated in one of the 22nd edition exhibitions.

EDUARDO VALES

My name is Eduardo Vales, I am a Geography teacher. In my free time I dedicate myself to photography. For me, photography is a passion and one of the ways I express my creativity. It is a great way to relax and relieve the stresses of everyday life. I have been taking pictures since I was a teenager, but it was only in 2015 that I started to dedicate myself more effectively to photography. I photograph a bit of everything, although I prefer street and landscape photography, I try different styles and photographic techniques. I have participated in several group and individual exhibitions.

ELSA ARRAIS

With a background in Engineering, her attraction to the visual arts emerged almost imperceptibly and photography gradually became her means of expression and artistic object. Since 2021, she has contributed to the Fotografar Palavras project, where she often searches for the defining elements of meaning in self-portraits; and since 2025 integrates the Street Photography Brazil curators team. With a preference for minimalist black and white photography, her visual exploration is guided by local and temporal ephemera, transforming the peculiarity of the details she finds in the streets she wanders through into brief fragments or reflections of memories and personal essences. With presence in national and international exhibitions and magazines, co-author of the books 18>>20 and olhares na ponta da mão, she contributes to several projects that combine various artistic expressions with photography.

FILIPE RAIMUNDO

Born in 1979 and living in Porto, he began his journey in photography when he was a teenager.
I have always been fascinated by the different ways of capturing images and alternative processes. Self-taught by nature, photography is the method I use to visualize the world.
My work consists of street, nature, landscape, and pinhole photography.
Pinhole photography is the one I have approached the most, as it allows me to express my world and inner vision.
In 2024, at the invitation of photographer Júlio Aires, I participated in the 22 Photos / Photographers event.
