VALÉRIA CUNHA

Valeria Cunha - Is a Portuguese photographer whose journey with photography began in 2019. Growing up on a small island in the Azores, she always felt connected to the untamed spirit of the ocean and driven by boundless curiosity. This curiosity lead her not only to seek lands she had yet to explore but also to uncover the poetic layers hidden in places she thought she already knew. Surrounded by nature’s isolation and quiet beauty, she has learned to see the world differently — paying attention to the details that often go unnoticed and discovering life’s subtle rhythms and textures.

Her journey places her between worlds — the intimacy of an island and the vastness of distant lands and seas, between imagination and reality, between the present and what is yet to come. She focus on street, travel, and documentary photography, working with both the vividness of color and the stark depth of black and white. For her, photography is more than just a form of expression: it is a way of connecting with life, a space where stories meet and emotions come alive. Through her images, she hopes to create moments that linger — photographs that stir emotions, spark curiosity and invite the viewer to dream and reflect.

She was published in various magazines and was part of several collective exhibitions. She’s also a curator in several photography hubs.
